Cocaine: How Long Does It Take to Get Over a Cocaine Addiction?

Question by brittanyb: How long does it take to get over a cocaine addiction?
I’m watching a movie right now about a cocaine addiction, and I’m curious as to how long it takes for a person who is addicted to cocaine to get over it completely. What happens to a person who stops using? Like what happens to their body?
Thank you for the info so far..

But does anyone know the typical time it takes a person to feel normal again when they try to stop using? Like the typical time period of vomiting, achy, etc. before feeling normal again?

It’s different for every addict some adicts take a life time to get over the urge to use some take months some years. but when people stop using they go through withdrawl, they get irritated easily and shake or vomit some feel pain and have achey muscles.

I had a problem with cocaine a few years back. Well, I didn’t think it was a problem at the time, but 6 days a week of being jacked up on blow is not healthy by any measure. When I decided to come off of it, I had no symptoms at all. Just the desire to go snort some more. No sickness, no headaches, no nothing.

to answer the second question; at most 2 weeks depending on number of different things. how often the person was using, how pure the coke is, the length of time the person was using.
to answer the first; once an addict always an addict hence relapse.
