Is it possible that wars were won in ancient times with help from the use of drugs?

As we all know certain drugs have adverse effects on the human mind and body, but did these effects help armies win battles not only in ancient times but during present time?
Cocaine, steroids or other drugs could certainly make an army stronger or a lot more aggressive …is this possible?
