How can we obtain custody of my step children when they’re mother is doing cocaine?

Kate T asked:

I have been with my partner for almost 2 years. In this time, his ex wife has had joint custody of the children (3-14y,13y,5y) and has had a total of 12 boyfriends. As each boyfriend leaves the picture a new one enters. The second to last one sent my partner an email that she had written between a friend, where she talks about her cocaine abuse, bloody noses, and passing out, etc, while the children were with her. We called Children’s Aid, but to our dismay they said there was nothing they could do…. they can not make her do a drug test as it violates her rights (What about the CHILDREN”S RIGHTS???!?!) Regardless, her most recent ex boyfriend argued with her that her cocaine addiction was too much for him, in front of our 14 year old son. This past weekend, he cried, and is very worried about her use. At the time, he is wondering if she does it, and says that the newest boyfriend is a dealer according to his friends. CAS has not helped us to this point ….what can we do??

Wives of cocaine addicts?

Yepimcute asked:

My husband has a cocaine addiction. He was a great guy before this. He was my highschool sweetheart and we have been together 16 years. 3 months ago I found out he had this addiction. He has ruined us financially. He has totally messed up our children by leaving for 2-3 day binges every week. I am kicking him out of our home and then allowing him to come back over and over again. He is becoming violent and very emotionally abusive. He is having affairs and 1 night stands. Everything he says to me is a lie anymore. I have stuck by him because I made a vow and I am true to my word but I am soooooo tired. I truely can not fix him. We will lose our home and he has lost his job. It is a total nightmare. I am looking for other women in my situation for support and an outlet. Please email me.

crack cocaine?

Sam asked:

I have been with this person for many years before the cocaine addiction started. this person was a working person reliable, consistent and not a liar. now the only thing this individual can do is blame anyone or anything for the use of crack cocaine. this person does not care who’s life is disrupted, disturbed or ruined by the cocaine addiction. i am tired. i don’t want to be bother with this individual anymore. i have gained nothing with this individual and all by myself but i am tired of being on the tight wire. how do i get rid of a crack head husband? i know today that he will never be anything but a crack head and i am not big enough or strong enough to deal with this anymore!

Can a person who was a cocaine addict drink alcohol occasionally after 6 months of rehab?

kat asked:

My husband is getting out of a 6 month drug rehab program on Friday. I want to know if it is ok to allow him to drink alcohol or not. Alcohol was never a problem for him, cocaine was his only addiction. I do not drink very often. I will maybe have 1 or 2 drinks every couple of months. I just wanted to know if I should ban all alcohol from our home? I just need some guidance on this one. Serious, helpful answers please.
